Canada's Own Angela Cheng Plays at Home
Canada's sweetheart Angela Cheng returned homeward to kick off the Kingston Symphony's 2026-27 season with a surprise program.
Spoiler alert: she masterfully performed Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor, K. 466. This piece is featured among her many recorded albums, several of which revolve around works by Mozart and both Schumanns, most particularly Clara Wieck.
Shortly thereafter, Cheng visited the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, playing a recital before teaching a masterclass. Her performance included sonatas by Mozart and Beethoven, variations by Cecile Chaminade, and various works by Chopin.
Many thanks to Michael Lewin for hosting and sharing this photo on Instagram.

In March, Angela Cheng will join the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra to perform Saint-Saëns' Piano Concerto No. 2 under the baton of Alejandra Urrutia. Secure your tickets now to witness her playing, deemed "invariably transparent and marked by delicacy of feeling" (Vancouver Sun).
